High-Protein Banana Bread: 4 Easy Loaves (No Flour Needed)

High-Protein Banana Bread: 4 Easy Loaves (No Flour Needed)

Banana bread is the easiest thing to bake when your bananas go brown. This version swaps flour, butter and most of the sugar for oats, eggs and yogurt.

A normal slice of banana bread has 3 to 4 g protein. These loaves get roughly double that per slice, stay moist for days and are a better snack than anything from the bakery counter.

Frequently asked questions

Can I make it without protein powder?

Yes. Eggs, yogurt and oats already bring the protein. The powder only adds a few extra grams per slice.

Why is my banana bread dense?

Usually the bananas were not ripe enough or the loaf was underbaked. Use bananas with lots of brown spots and test with a skewer.

How long does it keep?

3 days covered at room temperature, 5 days in the fridge, or 3 months frozen in slices.

Protein values are approximate and vary by brand and portion. If you have a medical condition or food allergy, check with a doctor or dietitian before changing your diet.
