The base (8 bars)

  • 100 g oats
  • 100 g peanut butter
  • 60 g protein powder (vanilla or chocolate)
  • 2–3 tbsp honey or syrup
  • A splash of milk until it holds together

Mix, press firmly into a lined tin, chill for at least 1 hour, cut into 8 bars. About 10 g protein per bar.

4 versions

  1. Peanut butter classic – the base recipe with a few chopped peanuts on top. About 10 g.
  2. Chocolate oat – chocolate protein powder plus 1 tbsp cocoa, dark chocolate drizzled on top. About 10 g.
  3. Coconut – almond butter instead of peanut butter, 30 g desiccated coconut. About 9 g.
  4. Without protein powder – replace the powder with 60 g skimmed milk powder and add 30 g chopped nuts. About 7–8 g per bar.

Tips

  • Too crumbly? More milk or nut butter. Too sticky? A spoon more oats.
  • Wrap each bar in baking paper – they keep a week in the fridge.
  • Good as a snack for long shifts: high-protein snacks for night shifts.
