High-Protein Pasta Salad: 5 Meal-Prep Recipes With 35 g+ Protein
Share
Pasta salad is the perfect meal-prep lunch: made once, eaten cold all week, no microwave needed. It just needs more protein than the barbecue version.
The classic version is pasta and mayonnaise. Flip the ratio – less pasta, more chicken, tuna or beans, and a yogurt dressing – and one portion hits 35 g protein or more.

Frequently asked questions
Which pasta has the most protein?
Lentil, chickpea and edamame pastas have roughly twice as much protein as wheat pasta. Wholegrain pasta is only slightly higher.
How do I stop pasta salad drying out?
Mix in a little extra dressing or a spoon of yogurt before eating. Pasta absorbs liquid overnight.
Can I freeze pasta salad?
Not well – the vegetables go soft. Make it fresh for 3 to 4 days at a time.
