High-Protein Split Pea Soup: 5 Hearty Bowls With 35 g+ Protein
Share
Split pea soup – Erbsensuppe – is one of the cheapest and most filling winter meals there is. Dried split peas bring a lot of plant protein on their own, and with lean smoked meat a bowl easily reaches 35 g.
Dried split peas have about 23 g of protein per 100 g plus plenty of fibre. 80 g dry peas per bowl give you around 18 g – the rest comes from lean Kassler, smoked turkey, chicken sausages or a spoon of skyr on top.
