High-Protein Salads That Actually Keep You Full at Work
Share
A bowl of leaves with a few tomatoes is not lunch. It is a reason to raid the snack drawer at 3pm. A salad that keeps you full at your desk needs three things: a proper portion of protein, some fibre-rich carbs or legumes, and a bit of fat. Get those right and a salad becomes one of the easiest high-protein lunches you can prepare.
The simple formula
- Protein (30–40 g): chicken, tuna, salmon, eggs, cottage cheese, feta, tofu, tempeh, lentils or chickpeas.
- Fibre and slow carbs: beans, lentils, quinoa, potatoes, wholegrain pasta or bulgur.
- Vegetables: as much as you like – crunchy ones survive the morning best.
- Fat: olive oil, nuts, seeds, avocado or cheese – a little goes a long way.

How to keep it fresh until lunch
- Dressing separate: a small jar or container stops the leaves going soggy.
- Layer it: dressing at the bottom, then beans and grains, then protein, leaves on top.
- Prep twice a week: cook protein and grains on Sunday and Wednesday, assemble each morning in five minutes.
